Wireless links provide broadband Internet access to offshore islands
Our unique position
Seratel's offices are on the edge of the Atlantic Ocean. We look out on three inhabited offshore islands – Clare Island, Inisturk and Inisbofin.
Building a network
A wireless network is being built to provide high speed Internet access to residents on all three islands. Seratel is acting as a hub for this. Aerials on our offices provide wireless links to Clare Island and Inisturk. Another aerial links back to the Internet service provider.
The link to Inisturk went live in August, and that to Clare island in September. The network is being built by Westnet
